(Breakfast available for purchase upon boarding bus.)

 

9:00a                Tour of the General Motors Truck Assembly Plant in Flint (the last remaining General Motors assembly Plant in Flint). www.visitflint.org

 

10:30a              Tour of Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills.  Walter Chrysler was an employee of General Motors before starting his own manufacturing business.  View over 70 extraordinary vehicles on display including many rare models of Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, DeSoto, Nash, Hudson, Rambler, and Willys cars and trucks.  Among these you will find: Dream cars from the 50’s, Custom-bodied Classics and four-wheel drive legends, and highly prized muscles cars.  www.chryslerheritage.com

 

12:00p             Lunch provided (included in tour fee) at Canterbury Village.  Historic Olde World Canterbury Village displays a wealth of treasures collected from around the world.  Antique windows, doors, paneling, and artifacts add distinction as well as luster to Olde World Canterbury Village and Kings Court Castle restaurant. 

 

1:30p               Return to Flint for a guided tour of the Durant - Dort Office building and the Nash home.  Billy Durant was the founder of General Motors.  Dort was founder of the Dort Motor Company, one of the first vehicles produced by General Motors.

 

3:00p               Hubbell Space Show, Flint Longway Planetarium (www.longway.org). A spectacular Hubbell Space Show prepared specifically for reunion participants.

 

4:00-6:00p       Open tours of the Flint Institute of Arts (www.flintarts.org), the Buick Museum and the Sloan Museum (www.sloanmuseum.org). Admission to location(s) of choice is included in tour price.

 

6:00p               Dinner and Fashion Show at Sloan Museum.

1:00-3:30p       Open Tours Of Crossroads Village’s Historic Buildings, Huckleberry Railroad, Steam Locomotive, Steam Saw Mill, Blacksmith Shop, Cider Mill and Ice House.

 

4:00-6:00p       Hopkins Cemetery for the dedication of Charles Brewster Hubbell tombstone.   He was a veteran of the Indian War of 1832 - 1837 and the Civil War of 1863-1865. Civil War reenactment soldiers will participate in the dedication services which will be lead by Fred Kull who will give a description of the military campaigns that may have involved Charles Brewster Hubbell.

Saturday 23, 2007  - Sunday June 24, 2007 - Sloan Museum Summer Fair - Hundreds of vintage cars, at least 25 years old will be on display at the museum fairgrounds.  A block of rooms will be reserved at the Holiday Inn Express, 1150 Robert T. Longway, Flint, (810) 238-7744, in the Hubbell name.  The room rate will be $69.00 + tax.  The hotel provides free transportation to and from Bishop (Flint) Airport and a continental breakfast. The Holiday Inn is within walking distance to Sloan Museum.
